Course Objective
In this course, effects of aerodynamic forces on vehicle performance, fuel consumption on vehicles with aerodynamics, effects on sound and vibration will be explained.
Brief Content of the Course
Importance and basic concepts of aerodynamics. Classification of aerodynamics, Aerodynamic forces and moments, Pressure distributions around objects, Wind tunnels, Wind tunnel test for vehicle aerodynamics, Drag coefficient measurement experiment, Flow screen experiments, Gurney flap, Spoiler and Coanda and Magnus effect.
