Course Objective
1. To teach students to understand the operation principles of electrical, pneumatic and PLC based automated systems. 2. To show students design and implementation methods for industrial automated systems. 3. To provide experience for students implementation of real industrial applications . 4. To provide practice in preparing scientific reports in Turkish. 5. Acquiring strategies for the sustainability of knowledge learned in class.
Brief Content of the Course
Fundamentals of industrial automated systems. Electrical and pneumatic control circuits. Programmable logic controllers (PLCs). PLC operating system and program processing. PLC programming languages: Instruction set, ladder diagram and function block diagram. The elementary binary logic operations, timer, counter, arithmetic and comparison functions. Design methods and implementation of relay and PLC based industrial automated systems. Industrial applications
