Course Objective
Evaluating the philosophical dimensions of art history periods. Gaining knowledge about philosophy of art and related concepts. Being able to reason about the philosophy of art and aesthetic views.
Brief Content of the Course
The comparison of philosophies belonging to periods of Art History. Philosophy of art is a branch of philosophy that reflects deeply on the nature, function, and value of art, as well as on the meaning of aesthetic experience. It questions fundamental concepts such as beauty, ugliness, expression, form, content, and the purpose of art.
