Course Objective
The aim of this course is to examine employment and unemployment from economic and social perspectives, enabling students to understand the functioning of the labor market, employment policies, and the causes of unemployment. It also aims to evaluate policies for preventing unemployment and the role of trade unions.
Brief Content of the Course
The course covers the basic concepts, structure, models, and functioning of the labor market. It examines globalization, flexibility, and new forms of work; discusses employment policies, dimensions, causes, and types of unemployment in Turkey and worldwide. In addition, passive and active labor market policies and the role of trade unions in combating unemployment are evaluated.
