Course Objective
The aim of this course is to introduce students to drama as a group-based method and to contribute to the development of social workers’ roles and skills through the use of its methods and techniques.
Brief Content of the Course
The definition of drama, its basic concepts, history, and the differences between drama, play, theatre and psychodrama. The Benefits of Drama: The effects of drama on creativity, mental development, interpersonal relationships, social skills, decision-making and problem-solving skills, and the ability to recognise and express one’s own emotions. Stages of Drama: Preparation, enactment and evaluation stages; various techniques used in drama (improvisation, role play, stil image, mime, role cards, etc.); Drama Applications.
