A Sabbatical Scientist from Iran Maragheh University, Faculty of Agriculture, Ayhan Şahenk, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies came to conduct joint studies within the scope of improving international relations.

Assoc. Dr. Hamid Hatami Maleki (Department of Plant Production & Genetics, University of Maragheh, Iran, https://en.maragheh.ac.ir) will conduct joint scientific studies at our faculty for 3 months between 22 July – 22 September 2023. Agricultural Genetic Engineering Department Lecturer Prof. Dr. Ahmet Latif Tek will provide consultancy. Within the scope of the visit, it is aimed to examine and define the genetic richness of the local chickpea populations of Iranian origin in detail by molecular methods in terms of chromosomes. With such international visiting programs for scientists, it is expected to contribute to the international awareness of our University, Faculty and our city.
