Ayhan Şahenk Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies was established in 2011 with the goal of training qualified Agriculture Engineers to compete with their counterparts at national and international level. The infrastructure of Faculty was provided by generous contributions from Doğuş Group, one of the largest private-sector in Turkey. The first students were enrolled to the faculty in 2013-2014.

Ayhan Şahenk Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies has the following departments:

·         Department of Agricultural Genetic Engineering

·         Department of Animal Production and Technologies

·         Department of Biosystem Engineering

·         Department of Plant Production and Technologies

260 decares of application area, located in Omer Halisdemir University Campus, has been booked for our Faculty. This area is split as 60 decares for thick set and traditional production, 30 decares for both table and wine vineyard, 60 decares for certified organic farming, 90 decares for field crops and 20 decares for research purposes. Students have the opportunity to study in both research and application fields.

The education in all programs in our faculty is different from the traditional agriculture faculties such that they are organized in extensive and interdisciplinary departmental schedules. The faculty will be initiator in our country in the view of using recent technologies alongside of traditional farming. Additionally, the academic organization of our Faculty is planned to fulfil the gaps in post-harvest process and animal breeding in our country.

Ayhan Sahenk Agricultural Sciences and Technologies Faculty plays an important role in training Agriculture Engineers and utilization of technology in agri-business sector for sustainable agricultural productivity. One of the primary goals of the faculty is to provide new techniques and products to national and international agriculture sector.
