TIES Promotion Webinar by Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University in Costa Rica: A Bridge to Academic Collaboration with Latin America


As part of the “Türkiye International Exchange Scholarship Program (TIES)”, which is being implemented for the first time by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) and for which our university has been selected as the pilot institution, a webinar was held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 17:00 (Türkiye time) and 08:00 (Costa Rica time) at the Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica.

Dr. Tefide Kızıldeniz Gürbüz Delivered an Online Master Class at Universidad Técnica Estatal de Quevedo Dr. Tefide Kızıldeniz Gürbüz, a faculty member of the Biosystems Engineering Department, was invited by Universidad Técnica Estatal de Quevedo (UTEQ) in Quevedo, Ecuador, to deliver an international online master class on February 27, 2025.

TEKNOFEST 2025 Meeting was Held in Our Department!


Our academic staff and students who will apply for the 2025 technology competitions held within the scope of TEKNOFEST, the world's largest Aviation, Space and Technology Festival, came together.

"Mycorrhizal Symbiosis and Cyclic Drought Applications in Different Ecological Regions and Greenhouse Conditions with Increased Temperature and Carbon Dioxide Concentration", in which one of our faculty members, Dr. Tefide KIZILDENİZ GÜRBÜZ, worked as a researcher. The project titled "Determination of the Effects on Plants" was entitled to receive support within the scope of TÜBİTAK ARDEB 1001.

Atyn HASEIN, as a guest of our university, studied part of her doctoral study with Dr. Lecturer It will be held under the supervision of member Tefide KIZILDENİZ GÜRBÜZ and will be in an academic interaction environment during this period.

Biosystems Engineering Department Will Be Represented at ICTP!


Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Department of Biosystems Engineering was invited to the "6th Workshop on Water Resources in Developing Countries: Hydroclimate Modeling, Information Tools and Simulation Techniques" event organized by Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy.

An orientation meeting was held for Biosystems Engineering preparatory class students


For the students who have registered for the Biosystems Engineering Department and are currently receiving language education in the preparatory class, an information and general orientation session about the department was held by our department's faculty on Wednesday, 08.05.2024, at 15:00, and participation was provided for questions and answers regarding the department.

One of the faculty members of our department, Dr. Lecturer The project titled "Development of a GIS-Based Intuitive Decision Support System with a Participatory Approach in Urban Transformation", in which member Zeynep ÜNAL worked as a researcher, was entitled to receive support within the scope of TÜBİTAK ARDEB 1001 "Special Call for the 100th Anniversary of our Republic".


The relevant project aims to produce a Web-Based Spatial Decision Support System to encourage participatory urban transformation processes.

The project, supported by the Vice-Rectorate of Research, focuses on the 'Technical and Economic Analysis of Avocado (Persea americana Mill) Production in Semi-Arid Areas of the Tacna Region


The international project titled "Technical and Economic Analysis of Avocado (Persea americana Mill) Production in Semi-Arid Areas of the Tacna Region (Peru)," in which Dr. Tefide Kızıldeniz Gürbüz, one of our faculty members, take part as a co-researcher, has been awarded support by the VICERRECTORADO DE INVESTIGACION.

Erasmus+ Youth Exchange Program, which took place in Romania between October 2-12, was completed with the participation of our students.


Under the leadership of Biosystem Engineering faculty member Dr. Tefide Kızıldeniz, Agricultural Engineering Department graduate student Tuana Aksoy, 4th year student Nuray Talay, 2nd year students Celil Emir Erdoğan, Seda Yıldız, Ayşe Altınkaya, Taha Kutay Aydın, and 1st year student Burak Hakan Aksoy from Plant Production and Technologies Department participated.

Picnic Event for First-Year Biosystems Students


Celebrating the unity and motivation among our department's first-year students before the final week, a picnic event was organized with department faculty on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 15:00 following class schedules at Kızılelma Park (Özbelde Park) in Aşağıkayabaşı District.

As Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, we proudly announce the research conducted by master's student Aidana SABITOVA from Kazakh National Agrarian University during her one-month visit. Under the supervision of Associate Professor Tefide KIZILDENİZ GÜRBÜZ, she performed simulations of barley crop under climate change scenarios using the LINTUL MULTICROP plant model.


This comprehensive research significantly contributes to our understanding of the effects of plant models on climate change and aids in future predictions. Aidana SABITOVA's visit to our university has enhanced knowledge and experience sharing, encouraged academic collaborations, and fostered cultural exchange.

A project called 'Art Discussion' was organized by the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange Program in Pleven, Bulgaria, between 11-21 April.


7 countries, including Italy, Poland, Romania, Greece, Netherlands, Bulgaria and Turkey, were involved in this project, which includes art discussion training.

We are hosting an international graduate student from Kazakhstan in our department.


We are pleased to welcome Aidana SABITOVA, a master's student from Kazakh National Agrarian University in Kazakhstan, to Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University. During her visit as a guest of our university, Aidana SABITOVA will undertake a portion of her master's thesis under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Tefide KIZILDENİZ GÜRBÜZ and engage in academic interaction.

We Welcome an International PhD Student from Tunisia to Our Department


We are pleased to welcome PhD student Moansour SECRAFI from Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, Arid Regions Institute, Medenine, Tunisia. Moansour SECRAFI will carry out part of her doctoral study with us as a guest of our university and will be in an academic interaction environment during this time.

Our new undergraduate student from Peru has started their education in our department under the Erasmus+ KA107 International Student Exchange Program.


Within the scope of the Erasmus+ KA107 student exchange program, an undergraduate student from Peru's Universidad Nacional Jorge Basadre Grohmann University has started education in our department to spend the 2023-2024 fall semester.
