Course Objectives 
1 To teach importance of conservation methods of forage in animal nutrition in terms of maintaining quality.
2To give information about the factors affecting feed value and quality of roughage preserved with different methods
3To give information about which types of roughage are better suited to which methods of preservation. To inform about the harvest and treatment in field and mechanization of roughage
4To give information about the methods of hay, silage and haylage making and the factors affecting quality of the roughage by these preservation methods, to give information about silage bacteria and additives.
5To give information about the feeding of animals by roughage preserved by different methods
6To give information about decision making which roughage preservation method is suitable for different farm systems.
