The project titled "Hydrogen and Fuel Cells" of Prof. Dr. Yüksel Kaplan, Faculty Member of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of our faculty, has been awarded an 8 million TL support grant by the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, Presidency of Strategy and Budget Directorate.
The project aims to support sustainable energy production and efficient use of energy resources
The project team led by Prof. Dr. Yüksel Kaplan included faculty members from four Turkish universities in different disciplines. The project aims to develop membrane electrode groups (MEG) of different sizes and with different properties for both proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells and PEM electrolyzers. In addition, the project aims to develop MEGs that closely follow the innovations and technological developments in the energy sector and match them with the needs and potential of our country, increase energy efficiency, support sustainable energy production and thus contribute to the effective use of renewable energy resources.
The Project has the Potential to Lead Our Country to a Stronger Position in Energy
Making a statement on the subject, Prof. Dr. Yüksel Kaplan stated that with this project, a bridge will be created between academic and industrial fields and the use of the developed MEGs in both academic research and industrial applications will be encouraged. Prof. Dr. Yüksel Kaplan also emphasized that the results of the project have the potential to contribute to our country's stronger position in terms of sustainability, innovation and competitiveness in the energy sector.
