Faculty of Engineering and Architecture was founded in 1992 academic year. In 2010, with the founding of Faculty of Architecture, the name of the faculty was changed to Faculty of Engineering. The Faculty consists of ten departments. Geological Engineering and Civil Engineering Departments in 1993-1994 academic year, Electrical-Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Departments in 1995-1996 academic year, Mining Engineering Department in 2008-2009 academic year, Environmental Engineering Department in 2009-2010 academic year, Mechatronics Engineering Department in 2012-2013 academic year, Food Engineering Department in 2013-2014 academic year, Geomatics Engineering Department in 2015-2016 academic year were started admission of undergraduate students. Admission of students for Computer Engineering Department has not yet started. Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Departments also offer undergraduate degrees through evening class in addition to regular program. All departments except for Mechatronics Engineering Departments have a Master of Science program and Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Electronics, Geological, Mining and Food Engineering Departments offer a Doctoral program.
