Visit by the Rector on December 3, International Day of Persons with Disabilities


On the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3, students with special needs studying at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University visited Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu at his office. During the visit, discussions focused on the university’s efforts to create an accessible campus and the students’ requests. The students expressed their satisfaction with the campus accommodations and thanked the university administration for their support.

Accessible University Club and Accessible University Unit Event


The Faculty of Education at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University organized a comprehensive program of events to raise awareness and promote social sensitivity in observance of “December 3, International Day of Persons with Disabilities.” Our Special Education students first introduced the “Accessible University Club,” which operates within our university. They shared the club’s vision and the projects they will undertake to enhance accessibility in campus life and create an inclusive educational environment with the participants. Under the guidance of Dr. Hidayet Dikici, as part of the Special Education and Inclusion Course and the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Course, they organized a rich program featuring informative brochures they prepared, an art exhibition themed around ADHD, and a song they composed themselves. We congratulate all the students who contributed to this effort.

Coordination and Evaluation Meeting of the Office for Students with Disabilities


On February 10, 2026, with the participation of our students with special needs enrolled at our university; an evaluation meeting was held with the participation of our Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ersin Aydın, Coordinator of the Disability Student Unit Dr. Hidayet Dikici, Assistant Coordinator Research Assistant Giray Erdoğan, and faculty members representing the Disability Student Units of the faculties and colleges. The following agenda items were discussed at the meeting: 1. Introduction of the Disability Student Unit and sharing of services provided 2. Assessment of issues faced by students 3. Discussion of improvement suggestions
