To take the necessary measures and make arrangements in this direction in order to eliminate the barriers of students with special needs and to facilitate their lives throughout their education life.. In this framework, the duties assigned to the Disabled Student Unit within the framework of the Higher Education Institutions Counseling and Coordination Regulation and the objectives of the Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Disabled Student Unit:

-To ensure that our students enrolled in our university have access to Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University disabled students unit before they come to enroll so that those with special needs can be identified during registration,

-To meet the needs of students with special needs while continuing their education, to anticipate the problems they may experience and to take and implement the necessary measures to eliminate these problems.

-To organize the curriculum in a way that does not hinder the academic, physical, psychological and social lives of our students with special needs, to inform the academic units in order to make this arrangement, to ensure the arrangement of the physical environment in the department and program where the disabled student is attended, to prepare special course materials, to ensure the preparation of hosting environments and to allocate vehicles when needed

-To carry out activities for students and institution staff in order to raise awareness about the rights of our students with special needs

-To develop and provide services based on the consultancy and voluntary principle,

-To prepare and carry out the work program of the unit, to prepare the annual budget draft and annual activity report,

-Organizing seminars, conferences and similar activities to raise awareness,

-Checking the applicability of the decisions taken,

-To help the institution to know the students better by cooperating with the families of the students with special needs,

-Organizing special needs students to participate in various activities within the institution
