Goals

      The main objectives of the English Preparatory Program are:

 

1.   To develop students' English language knowledge and skills in line with the academic, professional, and social communication needs required by higher education.

2.      To develop students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through a holistic, student-centered, and process-oriented approach.

3.      To enable students to understand and interpret written and spoken English texts and to appropriately convey the information they obtain from these texts.

4.      To support students in expressing themselves clearly, accurately, and purposefully in academic, professional, and daily communication environments, both orally and in writing.

5.      To develop students' note-taking, summarizing, presentation, participation in discussions, expressing opinions, and basic academic writing skills that they will need in their academic studies.

6.      To develop students' skills in accessing information, evaluating information, conducting research, and using information in accordance with academic ethical principles.

7.      To enable students to gain responsibility for independent learning, to become aware of their own learning needs, and to develop foreign language learning strategies.

8.    To support students in using digital resources, online learning environments, and educational technologies effectively and ethically in the foreign language learning process.

9.      To contribute to the development of students' critical thinking, problem-solving, collaborative work, and lifelong learning skills.

10.    To support students in gaining awareness of different cultures and using English as a tool for intercultural communication.
