Law No. 5267 on Energy Efficiency aims to increase efficiency in the use of energy resources and energy in order to use energy effectively, prevent waste, alleviate the burden of energy costs on the economy and protect the environment.

In this context, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Energy Efficiency and Environment Department celebrates the second week of January every year as "Energy Efficiency Week".
