"Meeting with High School Students: We Are Looking for the Agricultural Engineers of the Future."


Our university, Niğde Ömer Halisdemir, in collaboration with the Niğde Provincial Directorate of National Education and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's Education and Publications Department, held an event titled "Meeting with High School Students: We Are Looking for the Agricultural Engineers of the Future."

The event began with a moment of silence and the recitation of the National Anthem, followed by the screening of introductory videos about our university and the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies. The program continued with the enthusiastic participation and interest of 11th and 12th-grade students and teachers from various high schools in Niğde.

The Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Şekeroğlu, delivered the opening speech, welcoming all the students and guests. Prof. Dr. Şekeroğlu expressed his pleasure in hosting the students at their faculty and stated that the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies, with its educational opportunities, could be an important choice for students. Following this, the Vice Rector of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, Prof. Dr. [Name], also spoke. Ersin Aydın took the floor and delivered a brief welcoming speech to all the students and guests attending the event.

Following the opening speeches, Associate Professor Zeynep Ünal, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies, gave a presentation introducing the faculty. The presentation provided detailed information about the faculty's educational program, departments, academic facilities, laboratory infrastructure, and application areas. Associate Professor Ünal stated that students are prepared for their profession through practical work as well as theoretical knowledge during their education, and that the faculty has a structure open to self-improvement in modern agricultural technologies and sustainable production. She also highlighted the career opportunities offered by the agricultural engineering profession, noting that graduates can find employment in a wide range of public and private sector sectors.

The program continued with a speech titled "The Journey to Success" by İsmail Yolcu, Communication Coordinator of Çankaya University, addressed to high school students. In his speech, Mr. Yolcu emphasized the importance of disciplined study during the university entrance exam preparation process, stressing that students should develop planned and efficient study methods during the TYT and AYT exams. Furthermore, the event provided students with guidance on maintaining motivation during the exam process, setting goals, creating a suitable study environment, time management, and coping with stress. Yolcu emphasized that perseverance, determination, and consistent hard work are fundamental to success, and stressed that students should have confidence in themselves throughout the process, recognizing that their greatest competitor is themselves.

At the end of the event, participants were thanked, and certificates of appreciation were presented to the individuals and institutions who contributed to the program by Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ersin Aydın and Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies Prof. Dr. Ahmet Şekeroğlu. The program concluded with a group photo session to commemorate the day.
