Lettuce harvest took place in our Faculty Plant Production and Technologies Research and Application Greenhouse.
Our Faculty, which offers both theoretical and practical education and training opportunities to its students with its applied education model, puts what they have learned into practice in the application area and prepares our students for the sector.
Our Faculty also continues a new breeding program to develop vegetable varieties suitable for Niğde's climate and soil structure. In this context, it is aimed to increase product diversity in regional agriculture and to make more efficient production. Thus, our University continues to provide well-equipped individuals to the agricultural sector and contribute to regional development.
"In addition to Scientific Studies, We Also Support and Contribute to Local Development"
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu, who made a statement on the subject, stated that they attach great importance to transforming theory into practice in education and training with the understanding of a productive university. Rector Uslu emphasized that students’ participation in such practical studies prepares them for professional life and also contributes to regional agriculture, and said, “The breeding program initiated by our faculty is an important step in supporting both scientific studies and local development. Lettuce production specific to Niğde in our field of application is one of them. Today, we have harvested these products. May it be beneficial for our university and our province’s agriculture.”
