A Meeting Event with Sector Representatives was Held in Our Faculty

“The importance of agricultural planning in Turkey”

In our country and in the world, population growth is considerably higher than the increase in plant production. Agricultural engineers come into play in this section. It is among the duties of agricultural engineers to ensure that the steps are planned to meet and meet the increasing nutritional needs. Especially in recent days, the decrease in water resources and unconscious water use have made the problem of water shortage more visible. For this reason, as well as climate change, natural disasters, urban construction and economic losses, planning in agriculture has become mandatory.

“Solution-oriented actions of the Ministry of Agriculture”

Some measures and plans have been put into action by the Ministry, especially within the scope of sustainable agricultural policies. These actions are based on basic objectives such as processing unused lands, increasing production, planning irrigation and expanding crop planting according to regional crop patterns. Different agricultural supports are provided to encourage producers in line with these objectives. To give an example of these supports; the soils of our province of Niğde, which is very important in potato cultivation, are becoming infertile due to intensive potato cultivation. In order to prevent this, the support for the cultivation of products such as cereals and forage crops is being combated. In addition, animal production support has been increased considerably and efforts are being made to expand it. For example, in Niğde province, permission is not given to establish new farms in areas where there is a risk of water restriction and support is provided to women who want to do farming.
