Associate's (Short Cycle) and Undergraduate (First Cycle) Degree Programmes (For National Students):
The placement into the vocational schools (120 ECTS-2-year short cycle) and undergraduate (240 ECTS- 4-year first cycle) programmes is made solely based on the scores obtained from this The Student Selection Examination (ÖSS). Students taking the exam make their choices of degree programmes, and send their list to The Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). The ÖSYM receives all the applications, group the applications with respect to the score type and places the students to one of the selections they have made. Students who have started studies and achieved credits in other universities within or outside of the country may apply for their recognition. The recognition record is unique for each student and therefore the procedure is carried out accordingly before the start of each academic year.
Students, who are graduates of secondary education programmes of high, vocational or technical schools and have been placed by the Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM) to one of our programmes of their selection have the right to enroll the programme they have been placed to. Students with a proof of admission to higher education and the programme they have been placed to are admitted to the programme affiliated to the University. Students having the right to enroll register on certain dates, usually the first week of September. Please also see our registration procedures and also academic calendar
Associate (Short Cycle) and Undergraduate (First Cycle) Degree Programmes (For International Students):
The selection of foreign students for any associate (Short Cycle) and undergraduate (First Cycle) degree programmes into the higher education institutions in Turkey was also centrally managed via an examination called The Exam for Foreign Students (YÖS) organized by ÖSYM every year until the year 2010. However, after the year 2010, the placement is made by each university freely rather than central exam. The procedures of applications for foreign students are published every June on the web page of Nigde Omer Halisdemir University. In addition, students wishing to transfer one of our undergraduate programmes must apply directly to the students’ affairs office at our university. For detail information on admission requirements for international students, please refer to Rules and Regulations for Foreign Student Admission to Associate and Undergraduate Programmes.
