Sports Facilities

Nigde Omer Halisdemir University organizes sporting events to protect and improve communication among students and staff. Our university also encourages students to be interested in sports and encourages them to perform their favorite activities in their free time and they can join Inter-University tournaments and traditional sport festivals held each year.

There are three Sports Hall which are multi-purpose sports complex with a seating capacities of 3000 spectators. Olimpic one is the focus for most sports activities at Nigde Omer Halisdemir University. It has the necessary infrastructure for sport including basketball, volleyball, handball. It is used for physical education courses, various social and cultural activities and graduation ceremonies. Thre is also one fitness centre which is fully equipped. They are open to all students and staff. The Athletics and Football Field is 70x105 meters. It has got a grass field and a floodlit synthetic track with 8 running lanes. It is used for the physical education courses of the students, football matches, activities and competitions.
There are 2 tennis courts , basketball and volleyball areas located in the Campus and near the campus there is one olympic swimming pool which will be opened in June ,2011.

Leisure Activities

Nigde Omer Halisdemir University is trying to gain a reputation for the quality of its social and cultural activities, which take place on the Campus. The activities are designed for the enjoyment of students, academic and administrative staff and to develop new and existing interests.Throughout the academic year, students, academic and administrative staff can participate in variety of cultural and social activities.One of the most favored social and cultural activities in NOHU is the traditional Sports and Arts Festival and Spring festival organized every year during May. Concerts, sport games, cinema and theater presentations, sale and promotion stands, conferences, symposiums, scientific meetings, fashion shows and various competitions take place during the Festival. Also student groups from other Turkish universities and from foreign countries participate in the Festival.
