International Programmes

There are 3 programmes carried out in Nigde Omer Halisdemir University. The students can apply for any programmes if their academic average at the end of year is suitable for it.

ERASMUS+ EXCHANGE PROGRAMMES

The Lifelong Learning Program is the flagship European funding programme in the field of education and training. The Life Long Learning Program supports learning opportunities from childhood to old age in every single life situation. Grants and subsidies are awarded to projects and activities that foster interchange, promote bilateral and multilateral partnerships, foster trans-national mobility of individuals and promote quality in education and training systems throughout Europe. Currently, nine out of every ten European higher education institutions participate in Erasmus, in 31 different countries.

ERASMUS Program contains a wide range of measures designed to support the European activities of higher education institutions and to promote the mobility and exchange of their teaching staff and students. The ERASMUS program offers the possibility of studying abroad in another European country for a period of between 3 and 12 months for students to study or undertake a work placement abroad as part of their degree.

The ERASMUS offers you the chance to study your subject in different contexts with different teachers and different classmates. You will be surprised by different approach and the insights .You will enhance your personal development, your job opportunities, your confidence and your enjoyment of life. Living and studying in a new country is going to be a challenge because you will learn how to manage to overcome the obstacles and as a result of it you will become mature and confident. Not only will you acquire a broader range of skills to offer a future employer, but you’ll have fun doing it. Erasmus students say it is the best part of their time at university.

Nigde Omer Halisdemir University has been in the programme since 2005 actively and it has 147 bilateral agreements with 19 European countries. Every year a lot of students and staff at Nigde Ömer Halisdemir University apply for it in order to gain the benefits of the programme.

MEVLANA PROGRAMMES

Mevlana Exchange Programme aims the exchange of students and academic staff between the Turkish higher education institutions and higher education institutions of other countries. With the regulation published in August 23, 2011 (num: 28034), students and academic staff exchange between Turkish higher education institutions and higher education institutions of other countries has been possible.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ( MOU) / PROTOCOL AGREEMENT PROGRAMMES

Nigde Omer Halisdemir University has signed 55 bilateral agreements with 19 international universities in order to make the students and staff aware of innovations in education and their fields of study. Therefore; every year Nigde Omer Halisdemir University hosts many students and staff from other universities and sends a lot of students and staff abroad for one or two semesters. Application procedures are published at the beginning of semesters every year on the web page of our university for this programme.

The most comprehensive initiative realized in line with the aims and objectives of Turkic Universities Union (TURKUNIB) was signing of Orhun Exchange Program Regulation in Bishkek-Kyrgyzstan on April 6, 2017 and approval at the 5th meeting of the Ministers of Education of the Turkic Council of March 15, 2019.  As a result, the Orhun Exchange Pilot Program was launched in the 2017-2018 academic year.

Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University became a member of the Union at the Fourth General Assembly of the Turkic Universities Union hosted by Hoca Ahmet Yesevi International Turkish-Kazakh University as the Chair-in-Office which was held on 23-24 April 2019. As a result of this membership, the Orhun Exchange Program is initiated in 2019-2020 academic year.

INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS OFFICE

Nigde Omer Halisdemir University is an active member of Life Long Learning (LLP) Programme. In accordance with its mission of becoming an international university, Nigde University has entered into collaboration agreements with foreign institutions to promote the enrichment of teaching and research programs. Believing that such agreements reaffirm the enormous importance of international education and of maintaining a global perspective, the University has developed 52 collaborative agreements with many countries in Europe. Nigde Omer Halisdemir University as one of the Turkish universities awarded by EUC (Erasmus University Charter) took its place in SOCRATES/ERASMUS Program in 2005. The University received and sent its first students and teaching staff in 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 academic years. It has developed more than hundred bilateral agreements with European universities within the scope of Erasmus Program since 2005.

Nigde Omer Halisdemir University will carry out taking part in Life Long Learning - LLP and Youth Programs between 2008-2013 academic years through upholding its commitment to coordinate and implement European Union's new "Life Long Learning (LLP)" and “Youth Programs”. That’s why International Relations Office plays an important role in the strategic development of NOHU. As an international activity center at Nigde Omer Halisdemir University, the Office carries out its activities by focusing on quality rather than quantity.

Nigde Omer Halisdemir University International Relations Office coordinates and supports international cooperation activities by encouraging advancement of educational and scientific achievement, social and cultural enrichment.

The Office is responsible for the coordination of the mobility process within the scope of Erasmus Program. It takes care of all of the administrative and registration procedures regarding the preparation and support for the incoming and outgoing students and teaching staff. It offers orientation programs prior to the beginning of academic programs. The full integration and participation of incoming students is ensured in all social, cultural and sports activities of the university in addition to activities specially organized for them.
