GENERAL REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
Students placed by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) into any department at Nigde Omer Halisdemir University are contacted directly by the Student Affairs Office at NOHU and informed onthe registration dates and process. The registration documents and dates are also announced in every registration term on the Website of Nigde Omer Halisdemir University.
Prospective students entitled to register, in accordance with the principles determined by the Executive Board and Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK), must personally apply with a petition and required documents attached before the final date announced for registration. The registration procedures for both Turkish students who are placed by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) and foreign students selected to study at OHU are coordinated by the Student Affairs Office.
All students should pay their tuition fee at the beginning of the current semester. The registration of students who do not pay the tuition fee in due time is not approved. These students cannot take advantage of the student's rights. Students cannot register with incomplete documents and by mail. However, student can register through a substitute if there are acceptable excuses or contingency on condition to document. Prospective students who do not register the programmes which accept students through special aptitude tests in due time lose their registration rights to the students on the waiting list.
Students who want to study in a graduate program are required to apply directly to the related Graduate School along with all the application documents required for registration.
FOR TURKISH CITIZENS
Turkish students are asked to hand in the following documents below for the final registration:
To Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programmes
- Petition and application form
- Student Selection and Replacement(ÖSYM) Exam result or printout
- The original high school diploma or if the diploma is not prepared, the original graduation certificate or the copy of the certificate which is approved by the University
- Twelve (12) passport-size recent photographs (4.5x6 cm)
- Certified copy of personal ID card
- A health certificate taken from a healthcare organization regarding his/her health status is suitable (only for the students who will enroll to the department of Physical Education and Sports, Nursing, Midwifery, Property Protection and Security)
- Criminal Record taken from the Courthouse (only for the students who will enroll to the Department of Property Protection and Security
- For male prospective students, an official statement indicating that the student has no military obligation
- A receipt showing the student has paid the tuition fee
For Graduate Degree Programmes
- Petition and application form
- The original diploma or certified copy (Bachelor’s degree diploma for master’s degree programmes, bachelor’s and/or master’s degree diploma for doctorate degree programmes)
- Military Status Certificate for male students
- Six (6) passport-size recent photographs (4.5x6 cm)
FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
International students are asked to hand in the following documents below for the final registration:
To Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programmes
- Original copy of high school diploma and the “Certificate of Equivalence” showing that it is equivalent to the diplomas taken from Turkish high schools (this document shall be taken from the Turkish Embassy or Consulate in their countries or from the Ministry of National Education of Republic of Turkey)
- Original copy of passport and the photocopy of its notary-certified Turkish translation
- Bank receipt showing that the tuition fee has been paid (at the amount announced and to the relevant bank announced)
- “Student Visa” to be got from their countries’ or the closest Turkish foreign missions for the students outside Turkey; and from the Provincial Directorate of Securities for students in Turkey
- Original copy of internationally valid certificate of competence of Turkish as Foreign Language certified by Turkish Embassy or Consulate in their countries
- Photocopy of the permit of residence (acceptance letter sent to the prospective student stating that he/she is eligible for registration as well as document received from Provincial Directorate of Securities)
- Six (6) passport-size recent photographs (4.5x6 cm)
- Original copy of transcript and its true copy in English or Turkish certified by Turkish Embassy or Consulate intheir countries.

ENROLLMENT FOR THE COURSE UNITS AND REGISTRATION
Students are obliged to determine the courses they will take through the semester by consulting their advisor within the time span stated in the academic calendar at the beginning of the academic year and must register online on Student Automation System and receive the written approval of the advisor.
Students who have not registered cannot take advantage of the students' rights in that semester. Students who have not reregistered in due time stated in the academic calendar, but whose excuses are accepted by the relevant executive board can register within the additional time given.
ApplIcatIon & RegIstratIon Procedure for Erasmus Students
International exchange students are accepted in the framework of a bilateral agreement between Nigde Omer Halisdemir University and the partner university. The “Application & Registration Procedure for Erasmus Students” is summarized below. The students are required to prepare and submit the following documents for application.
- Student Application Form
- Learning Agreement
- Copy of passport
- Transcript of Records
- Health insurance valid in Turkey
- Four (4) passport-size recent photographs (4.5x6 cm)
The International Relations Office representatives will send the accepted students signed and stamped one copy of Learning Agreements and Acceptance Letter and they will direct the students from their first arrival till the last day of their stay. They will make all kinds of arrangements for the incoming students too such as; residency permits, accommodations etc. After enrollment the students will be given a temporary student ID card to enable them to use the library and dining hall access and other university facilities.
