Course Objective
The aim of this course is to introduce students to the concepts and methodology of business intelligence, to help students learn business intelligence methods and applications used to support better business decision making, and to help students learn techniques related to database management, data warehousing and data mining and their benefits to organisations.
Brief Content of the Course
This course will cover the basic concepts, methods and applications of business intelligence. In more detail, the content of this course covers introduction to BI methodologies, business data understanding and analytics, database management systems, data warehouse definitions, architectures and datamart structure, data preprocessing and visualisation, data mining methodologies and basic concepts, association analysis, supervised and unsupervised algorithms in data mining.
