Course Objective
Introduction to cyber security and basic concepts, historical development of computer security, physical security and cyber security, threat, vulnerability and attack concepts, network and internet security, cyber actors and attack methods, cyber defense methods, attack detection and response, kinetic warfare and cyber warfare, security in mobile and social media environments, personal and corporate data security management, critical information systems and national security, IT legislation and law, the impact of cyber security on the economy, human factor and ethics in cyber security.
Brief Content of the Course
Fundamentals of Information Systems security; Basic cryptology, symmetric key encryption algorithms (DES, 3DES, RC4, AES) and different modes (CBC, CFB, OFB, CTR) public key encryption algorithms, RSA, Diffie Helman, Elliptic Curve; Hash algorithms; Cryptographic techniques for confidentiality, authentication and message integrity; Network security, SSL, IP-Sec, WLAN security, organizational security; Web application attacks and protection methods; Basic operating system security, buffer overflow attack.
