Course Objective
Learning important in terms of microbiology information in environmental engineering, to deal with problems in the process of treatment,
Brief Content of the Course
Classification of microorganisms, prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms, Bacteria, fungi, algae, protozoa and viruses; Metabolism and development of microorganisms; Wastewater Microbiology, The Role of microorganisms in biological treatment systems, Reaction Kinetic, Microorganisms in aerobic systems, Role of microorganisms in activated sludge systems, Role of microorganisms in Trickling Filters, Biodiscs and microorganisms, Microbiology of Stabilization Ponds, Living organisms and their roles in Natural Treatment, Microorganisms and their roles in Anaerobic Treatment Systems; Microrganisms and their roles in composting systems, Microorganisms in Drinking water treatment and distribution systems, Pathogenic and parasite microorganisms, Indicator Organisms, Operational problems related to microorganisms in treatment systems, Laboratory Practice: -microscopic observation in stock preparations- microscopic examination of microorganisms in wastewater samples-simple and gram staining- determination of-coliform.
