Course Objective
Giving basic information about hydrological cycle,precipitation, evapotranspiration, interception, infiltration, surface runoff and hydrograph analysis and etc., teaching hydrological data collection, evaluation and use in engineering applications
Brief Content of the Course
Definition of Hydrology, methods, hydrological cycle, basic equations of hydrology, global water balance, sustainable use of water resources and problems, precipitation, precipitation measurements, analysis of precipitation records, the calculation of the areal average rainfall in a basin, evaporation, measurement and calculation technics of evaporation, infiltration, infiltration capacity and indice; groundwater, regions, feeding, losses, stream flow, velocity, level, discharge measurement methods, analysis of runoff records, identification of (drainage)watershed area, watershed characteristics, surface runoff, rainfall-runoff equations, hydrographs, hydrograph analysis, parametric watershed models, unit hydrograph theory
