Course Objective
The aim of this course is to understand the basic rules and characteristics of the measurement and evaluation in education and to ensure developing the measurement tools in the teacher candidates' education fields and assessing the results.
Brief Content of the Course
The importance of measurement and evaluation in education, the basic concept related to measurement and evaluation, characteristics of measurement tools (reliability, validity, usefulness), and the properties of measurement tools used in education, traditional tools (written exams, short answer exams, right -false, multiple choice tests, matching tests, oral exams and assignments), a diagnostic tools to recognize the student (observation, interview, performance evaluation, portfolio, research papers, research projects, peer assessment, self-assessment, attitude scales) , the results of measurement of the basic statistical procedures, evaluation of learning outcomes, grading, measurement tool development related to the field.
