Course Objective
The purpose of this course is to develop students’ academic writing competence by enabling them to analyze the structure of paragraphs, apply the principles of unity and coherence, and acquire the skills to produce well-organized texts using various paragraph types in accordance with academic writing conventions.
Brief Content of the Course
This course introduces the fundamental features of academic writing, paragraph organization, and sentence structures. It covers the main parts of a paragraph (topic, supporting, and concluding sentences) and emphasizes unity, coherence, and transitions in writing. Students will also study and practice different types of paragraphs, including cause-effect, comparison, classification, and problem-solution.
