Course Objective
To teach students vibrational motion by covering the concepts of simple harmonic motion on the mass-spring system and pendulum type, to study the phenomenon of reflection and interference with the subject of waves traveling in one dimension and to carry out experiments on these subjects in our Vibration and Waves laboratory.
Brief Content of the Course
Oscillatory motion. Simple harmonic motion. Types of pendulums. Waves traveling in one dimension. Sinusoidal waves. Sound waves. Doppler effect. Reflection, refraction, interference and diffraction experiments.
