Course Objective
Introducing Research in Nuclear Medicine Physics: Introducing human body physiology. Introducing radioactive decay, the effects of decays on the body, half-life, radiation dose, and biological half-life concepts. Introducing radiation dose and dose equivalent, and teaching calculation techniques. Introducing the devices used in nuclear imaging, such as Tomography, Scintigraphy, SPECT, and PET. Sustainable Health Concept: Sustainable health should include not only therapeutic solutions but also the early diagnosis and prevention of diseases. Nuclear medicine provides accurate diagnostic and treatment methods, ensuring the efficient use of healthcare resources, which, in turn, enhances the sustainability of the health system. By enabling earlier diagnosis and treatment of diseases, nuclear medicine improves people's health. Technological advancements in nuclear medicine encourage the innovative development of medical devices and infrastructure. Radiation therapies and nuclear medicine applications are related to this goal by ensuring more efficient use of resources. Nuclear medicine physics offers sustainable solutions in healthcare by developing more efficient and environmentally friendly treatment methods. This strengthens healthcare systems while also supporting environmental sustainability and economic development.
