Course Objective
There is an undeniable relationship between the emerge of human rights and rise of democracy. The rise of democracy has lead human rights and human rights’ philosophical progress have lead the democracy in a positive manner. But this relation has not been smooth always and progress contradictory. Led by the increasing amount of illiberal democracies, the relation of democracy and human rights is getting a controversial theme in modern times.
Brief Content of the Course
The progress of democracy since Ancient Greek will be described. The birth of human rights, and French revolution will be analyzed and the controversial relation of democracy and human rights will be discussed.
