Course Objective
The objective of the course is to develop ideas and skills for to use of geographical information systems in any project. The cycle of GIS processes from data to information will be discussed with sample GIS projects and discussions. Also, it will be supported by GIS applications so that the GIS project management process will be explained. After taking this course, students are expected to interpret data and GIS software functions, to evaluate data, process, and products' accuracy. They will also have knowledge about the usability of GIS in different application areas, such as Geographic Information System applications in Sustainable Local Planning.
Brief Content of the Course
GIS projects and characteristics, data and characteristics, problem solutions with vector data, problem solutions with raster data, accuracy assessment, and Geographic Information System applications in Sustainable Local Planning.
