Course Objective
The objective of this course is to introduce the main issues in the theory and practice of data mining and knowledge discovery and how to process geospatial data in this context. Students are introduced what kind of information from geospatial data can be obtained by which analysis operations and algorithms. Students, after taking the course, are expected to have an understanding of the core concepts related to how to obtain knowledge that will be used in decisions from geospatial data by using data mining techniques.
Brief Content of the Course
Data cubes, data pre-processing, association rules, classification methods, clustering algorithms, regression analysis, and outlier detection.
