Course Objective
The aim of this course is to enable the student to discuss contemporary philosophical trends that have had a transformative impact on Anglo- American literature in the second half of the 20th century and to analyse related philosophical concepts.
Brief Content of the Course
In this course, the features of philosophical, cultural, and intellectual environments that led to the development of poststructuralism and postmodern philosophy are first elaborated. Major works by leading theorists of feminist philosophy, environmental philosophy, animal studies, and posthumanism are evaluated with reference to the new critical insights, introduced by these theories to interpret literary works.
