Course Objective
The aim of this course is to examine the historical environment that gave rise to Sufi poetry, which is an important part of our national culture, to introduce the literary environments that gave life to this poetry, to teach theoretical issues regarding the definition, scope and goal of this literature, to introduce the basic concepts and methods of the field, to give them a literary pleasure. It consists of raising and aesthetic awareness, showing the relationship of this literary field with other fields, showing the works of art produced in this field throughout this history, and pointing out the Sufi symbols and the nature that the language has acquired in the historical process.
Brief Content of the Course
In this course, basic knowledge and concepts about Sufism are taught. The birth, development, history and scope of Sufism are explained. The birth and development of Turkish Sufi Literature is taught. Important Sufis of Turkish Sufi Literature, their ideas and works are examined. Sufi texts are analyzed.
