Course Objective
To examine the relationship between the theories of modern human rights and democracy and to compare them with those in the Islamic tradition.
Brief Content of the Course
The concept of democracy and human rights and their historical background. The concept of rule and justice in various Muslim states in history. The so-called tension between Islamic and democratic values.
