Course Objective
To be able to obtain the correct parameters of the soil through laboratory and field tests and to know the soils in order to build reliable structures on soils.
Brief Content of the Course
Field surveys and on-site sampling methods, storage and transportation of samples. To comprehend the concept of sustainability and its application domains. Basic physical properties of soils. Experiments to determine the basic properties. Sieve analysis experiments. Consistency limits test. Classification according to grain diameter. The movement of groundwater in the ground. Darcy's law and permeability experiments.
