Course Objective
To give informations about the geochemical properties of igneous rocks.
Brief Content of the Course
Geochemical composition of igneous rocks, major, trace and rare earth elements. Geochemical classification of elements, compatible and incompatible elements, the distribution coefficients, the abundances of the elements and the behavior of some important minerals. Evaluation of major and trace element data, and standard classification of rocks, minerals play a role in determining differentiation (Harker diagrams), the magma type of identification with the help of binary and ternary diagrams. With geochemical data to determine the tectonic environment. Factor in the formation of igneous rocks of the processes, partial melting, differentiation, assimilation, magma mixing etc. Modeling using trace and rare earth elements in igneous processes.
