Course Objective
Evaluate the contemporary architectural environment by obtaining knowledge about Late Ottoman, Republican Period and contemporary Turkish Architecture. Be able to have knowledge of history and a critical attitude about the important movements in the art, architecture and design fields.
Brief Content of the Course
The importance of the history of architecture course, examination of sustainable historical buildings. Late Ottoman, Republican Period and contemporary Turkish Architecture; the effective trends in the art, architecture and design fields at the end of 18th century and in the 20th century (Arts&Crafts, Art Nouveau, Bauhaus, Modernism, Post Modernism).

To have sufficient knowledge about the basic concepts of History of Architecture and Art and can use this knowledge in the architecture applications.

To develop a critical viewpoint and thinking ability about the issues by examining how the different cultures and conditions effect the development of architecture on the examples.
