1 To know the basic concepts of statics.
2 To understand the concepts of force, moment and balance and to know their importance in engineering problems.
3To classify load-bearing systems and calculate bond strengths.
4To calculate the center of gravity of objects.
5 To be able to investigate the equilibrium conditions of systems under the influence of friction and static loads.
6To find the moments of inertia of geometric shapes.
7To be able to draw sectional influence diagrams by understanding the relationships between distributed load, moment and shear force.
8 To be able to define and solve simple and compound strength states.
9Understanding the concept of stress and solving plane stress problems.
