Course Objective
Detailed examination of the new energy efficient building envelope, double skin facade systems that have been widely used all over the World.
Brief Content of the Course
Investigation of sustainable architectural design decisions. Evaluation of Double skin facades (DSFs),general view of the DSFs, their definitions, DSF types, ventilation mechanisms in air cavity, airflow modes, architectural configuration issues of DSFs. DSF practices in the World from Turkey. Advantages and Disadvantages of this systems. Experimental and Numerical analysis of DSfs from literature, Heat transfer calculations.
