Course Objective
It focuses on musical reading, writing, and listening, and also includes basic musical knowledge, rhythm, and polyphony, thus providing the necessary foundation for other subjects. It aims to cultivate individuals who possess musical sensitivity, can develop their abilities to understand, interpret, and create through music, grasp the fundamental concepts and language of music, and analyze the works they sing, play, and listen to. Additionally, it seeks to enhance cognitive, emotional, and motor skills. MHRW is a core course in the Music Education program that spans four semesters. The aim of this course is to equip students with the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills they will use in their professional lives.
Brief Content of the Course
Measure, rhythm, key, note notation (positions), note values, simple intervals, accidentals, sight-reading, reading, writing, and creating monophonic melodies in C major and A minor in durations of whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, eighth notes, and sixteenth notes, recognizing major and minor scales.
