Course Objective
Learning general Turkish Folk Music information (genres, forms, styles). Starting with simple and easy melodies, singing folk songs in conjunction with the modes, both verbally and without words.
Brief Content of the Course
Performing folk songs, starting with simple and easy melodies, associating them with the makams, both verbally and without. Listening to examples of folk songs from various regions, listening to authentic and characteristic melodies that support the correct performance of folk songs. Performing melodies in the Hüseyni and Uşşak makams, which are widely used in folk music, as well as in the Hicaz, Kürdi, and other simple makams. Performing melodies related to 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10-time usuls. Selecting and teaching melodies that can be used in school music education, group melody singing activities.
