Course Objective
The aim of the course is to examine the basic theories and concepts of Art History discipline, the formation and change phases of the facts and images subject to Art History in the historical process, and to evaluate the characteristics of the art understanding of civilizations in Anatolia and its surroundings according to their periods through general examples.
Brief Content of the Course
Anatolian Iron Age civilizations (Urartu-Frig-Lidia) and Greek city states (polis) will be introduced. The interactions of artistic elements in Anatolia with other Mediterranean civilizations will be evaluated. The reflections of Greek and Roman art in Anatolia will be evaluated.
