Course Objective
The aim of this course is to examine the art and architecture of the Byzantine Empire from the beginning of the 4th century to 1453, to discuss the characteristic features of Byzantine architecture through religious and civil architectural structures in the territories ruled by the empire, and to train art historians who are knowledgeable in this field.
Brief Content of the Course
By taking the political formation process of the Byzantine Empire, determining the definition and historical formation process of Byzantine art with examples in religious, military and civil architecture.
