Course Objective
To better understand Turkish art that developed in Anatolia after migrating from the Turkistan region, consider the sources that influenced it, the geographical regions where it spread, the changes and developments it experienced, its areas of application, execution styles, and their characteristics.
Brief Content of the Course
In this course, we will examine how Islam influenced the development of Turkish architecture, outlining its basic features and key components. The sources of inspiration, as well as Anatolian Seljuk and Ottoman architecture, will be explored. The course will also cover important works from the Emirates period and discuss the development and characteristics of Turkish Islamic art and architecture. Architectural structures from various regions and historical periods will be studied, highlighting differences in art and architecture across those periods.

Significant architectural works from the earliest period of Islam through the Umayyad, Abbasid, and Tulunid dynasties will be studied.
