Course Objective
To make students understand the four fundamental laws of thermodynamics and how these laws work in physical systems, to teach concepts such as heat, temperature, calories, specific heat, coefficient of expansion, etc., and to carry out experiments on these subjects in the thermodynamics laboratory.
Brief Content of the Course
Heat, temperature and calorie measurement. Laws of thermodynamics. Thermal expansion of solids and liquids. Ideal gas law. The kinetic theory of gases. Heat engines.
